The Sokoine University of Agriculture SUA

Parliamentary Act No. 14 of 1984, amended by Parliamentary Act No. 6 of the same year, founded the Sokoine University of Agriculture for the first time on July 1, 1984.

Following the abolition of the Act, the university now operates under the Sokoine University of Agriculture Charter of 2007, which is governed by the Universities Act of 2005.

The history of the Sokoine University of Agriculture dates back to 1965 when it started as an Agricultural College offering diploma training in the discipline of agriculture.

Sokoine University of Agriculture’s academic business is guided by the university’s vision and missions as well as the Corporate Strategic Plan (2016-2021), the latter that spells out plans in keeping with the university’s core missions and functions as well as the need to remain competitive.

How to apply for SUA admission online

This is a step-by-step guide to applying to Sokoine University of Agriculture’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Follow the steps below to apply for admission:

Step 1: Access the SUA Admission website

Access the SUA Admission website: https://www.sua.ac.tz/apply-admission-sua-online-application 

Step 2: The SUA online application system will open

Navigate to the Undergraduate or postgraduate section and Read the available instruction carefully.

Step 3: Registration

Navigate to the registration link and Fill in the required information to complete your registration. The information needed during the registration stage includes

  • First name
  • Surname
  • Email Address
  • Mobile Telephone Number
  • O-Level index number,

To finalize registration you will need to put in a password of your choice that you will use whenever you wish to log into the admission system.

If you are successfully registered, then the system will send you an email or SMS. Please log in to your email account and use the link sent to your email to activate your admission account.

Step 4: SUA online application login

Login to SUA OAS by using your Username and password. Complete your registration by providing your basic information such as gender, marital status, and date of birth, among others.

Step 5: SUA Application fees payment

Once you have completed the registration stage, the control number will automatically be generated and you will be able to make an application fee payment and complete the application.

For a successful application, an applicant must pay a non-refundable application fee of 10,000/= TZS.

<> Applications to all programmes must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of Ten thousand Tanzanian shillings only (10,000/=) payable through MPESA/ TigoPesa / FAHARI HUDUMA or any CRDB Bank branch. To make the payment use the Control Number generated during the Preliminary application stages on the online admission application portal.

Step 6: The course selection

feature will only be visible for filling once the application fee is paid, carefully select your courses and submit your completed application: In order to successfully complete the application; the applicant is required to complete all steps from “Home” to ”Submit” your application.
