PASSPORT APPLICATIONS IN TANZANIA
The Immigration Services Department is established under Section 4(1) of the Immigration Act of 1995 Chapter 54 as amended by Act No.8 of 2015.
It gives the Department the authority to control and facilitate immigration issues in the United Republic of Tanzania.
The Department is one of the security organs under Ministry of Home Affairs.

Passports and Travel Documents Information
With the exclusion of Geneva Convention travel documents and Certificate of Identity, all other types of passports including Emergence Travel Documents may be applied for online through the following link:

After accomplishing to fill the form online and make payment, applicant is required to print and submit the form along with the required attachments to the nearest Regional immigration Office, Immigration Headquarters, Immigration Head Office in Zanzibar as the case may be or at the relevant Tanzanian Embassy If the applicant is outside the country.
General Requirements for Application of Passports
An application for a passport shall be accompanied by the following:
1. A Birth Certificate or Affidavit of Birth or Certificate of Naturalization of the applicant (In case the applicant is a citizen by naturalization).
2. A birth Certificate or Affidavit of Birth or Certificate of Naturalization of the applicant’s parent or parents’
3. National Identity Card,
4. Recent, clear 1 passport size photo (to be uploaded online)
5. A fee of 150,000 for passport and 20,000 for Emergence Travel document.
In case the applicant is below the age of 18 years, the parent’s or legal guardian must accompany the applicant and submit a written consent regarding the applicants’ trip outside the country
