NAFASI ZA KAZI KINONDONI MUNICIPAL COUNCIL – 30 POSTS

Kinondoni Municipal Council is one of the five (5) Councils that make up the Dar es Salaam Region. Others are Temeke Municipal Council, Ubungo, Kigamboni and Dar es Salaam City Council.

Kinondoni Municipal Council was established by the Government Law (Town Authorities) chapter 288 through Government Notice No. 4 of 2000 by the Office of the President, Regional Administrations and Local Governments as an independent body, thus giving it authority to increase the quality of service delivery to its citizens.

Kinondoni Municipal Council borders the Indian Ocean to the East, Dar es Salaam City Council to the South, Bagamoyo District to the North and Ubungo District to the West. The council is connected to other parts of the city and country by a network of communication roads. Main roads include Morogoro, Bagamoyo, Kawawa, Sam Nujoma, Mwai Kibaki and Ally Hassan Mwinyi roads.

Kinondoni Municipal Council has a size of 321 square kilometers. According to the National Population and Housing Census of 2012, Kinondoni Municipality had a population of about 929,681 people. Due to the increase in population growth of 5.0 percent per year, the Municipality is estimated to have a population of about 1,373,562 by the year 2020, so each square kilometer has a volume of 4,279 people.

On behalf of Kinondoni Municipal Council, Secretary of the Secretariat Employment in the Public Service welcomes job applications from Tanzanians with qualifications and ability to fill thirty (30) positions as specified in this announcement.

ENGINEER II- (CONSTRUCTION) – 5 POSTS

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. He will work under the supervision of an Engineer registered with the Registration Board of Engineers (Professional Engineer) to get the required experience;

ii. Conduct inspections of roads, bridges and various buildings;

iii. Investigating the sources of road accidents;

iv. Monitoring the implementation of Laws and Regulations for the construction of roads and buildings;

v. To prepare the annual budget for the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges
and buildings;

v. Managing and coordinating the works of roads/bridges and buildings provided by
Contractors; and

vii. To do other tasks assigned by his supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Employed Fourth/Sixth Form Graduates who passed Bachelor Studies/Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) from colleges recognized by the Government and must be registered and the Engineers Registration Board (ERB)

SALARY

Based on the levels of Government salaries ie TGS E

ENGINEER II (ELECTRICAL) –  1 POST

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. He will work under the supervision of an Engineer registered with the Registration Board of Engineers (Professional Engineer) to get the required experience;

ii. Practical work in the field of electricity to enable him to obtain qualifications
enough to be registered with the Engineers Registration Board;

iii. Collecting information and statistics about electrical equipment and various machines
at home and abroad;

iv. Through various technical project proposals and
electricity submitted to the Ministry; and

v. To do other tasks assigned by his supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Employed Fourth/Sixth Form Graduates who passed Bachelor Studies/
Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor of Science in Electrical
Engineering) from colleges recognized by the Government and must be registered
and the Engineers Registration Board (ERB)

SALARY

Based on the levels of Government salaries ie TGS E.

ENGINEER II CONSTRUCTION (STRUCTURAL) – 2 POSTS

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. He will work under the supervision of an Engineer registered with the Registration Board of Engineers (Professional Engineer) to get the required experience;

ii. Conduct inspection of various roads and bridges;

iii. Investigating the sources of road accidents;

iv. Monitoring the implementation of Road Construction Laws and Regulations;

v. To prepare the annual budget for the construction and maintenance of roads and
bridges;

v. Supervise and coordinate road and bridge works provided by
Contractors; and

vii. To perform other tasks assigned to him by his supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Employing Fourth/Sixth Form graduates who have completed Bachelor’s training/
Advanced Diploma in the field of Civil Engineering with specialization in Infrastructure
and Building Durability (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering – Structural) from
in colleges recognized by the Government and registered with the Registration Board
Engineers (ERB).

SALARY

Based on the levels of Government salaries ie TGS E.

BUILDING ARCHITECT CLASS II – 3 POSTS

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Employed with Degree / Higher Diploma from recognized Universities
and the Government in one of the following fields:-

Architecture, Building Design, Architectural and Building Engineering Technology, Landscape Architecture and Planning, Architectural Technology, Naval Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Conservation Architecture, and Interior Design is registered with the Architects Registration Board (AQRB).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Prepare a plan for the technical requirements and budget of the relevant project

ii. Inspecting the project area and preparing reports

iii. Advise on the selection of contractors and other project professionals

iv. Conduct a feasibility study of the project

v. To assess the environmental impact of the relevant project

v. Prepare preliminary drawings (outline proposals) and drawings with complete requirements of the project (scheme designs)

vii. Conduct regular site visits for projects

viii. Advising on the ownership of ancient buildings

ix. Inspecting buildings that have been completed for the purpose of giving
advice so that the building can be given a certificate of occupancy (Certificate of Occupancy)

x. To do other tasks that are compatible with his profession as far as he will be assigned by his chief of work.

SALARY

Based on the levels of Government salaries ie TGS E.

BUILDING ESTIMATOR CLASS II – 6 POSTS

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Employed with Degree / Higher Diploma from recognized Universities
and the Government in one of the following fields:

Construction Management, Building Surveyor, Building Economics, Quantity Surveying and must be registered with the Board which manages this Construction Estimating Profession. (AQRB)

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Working under the supervision of a Construction Estimator registered with the registration board relevant as “Professional Quantity Surveyor”;

ii. Provide advice on preliminary construction cost estimates.

iii. Preparing Plans and Estimates of construction costs and tenders (Bill of Quantity.

iv. Review and evaluate work in progress for payment in progress
various projects

v. Preparing and evaluating additional work costs when they occur (Evaluation of
variations)

v. Preparing the Requirements for Construction Projects (Project resources) and

vii. Other tasks assigned to you by your Employer

SALARY

Based on the levels of Government salaries ie TGS E.

STANDARD TECHNICIAN GRADE II (CONSTRUCTION) – 5 POSTS

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Doing construction work on the walls of the house and painting and installing
pipes;

ii. Carving equipment for government houses, including furniture;

iii. Doing survey work of roads, buildings and canals like
as directed;

iv. Assigning work to standard assistant technicians and ensuring that they finish as
planned.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

i. Those who graduated form VI and qualified for two years of technical training
from a College recognized by the Government in the fields of construction technician;

ii. Those who graduated form IV and completed a three-year technical course
from Technical Colleges recognized by the Government in the fields of construction worker;

iii. Holders of Vocational Test Certificate stage I (construction) from the College of Vocational recognized by the Government;

iv. Holders of a Standard Diploma in construction technician fields from College recognized by the Government.

STANDARD TECHNICIAN GRADE II (ELECTRICAL) – 2 POSTS

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Conduct quality inspection of Government vehicles and repair
accordingly;

ii. To carry out mechanical and electrical testing in accordance with the instructions of
Engineer;

iii. Perform maintenance of electrical systems;

iv. Doing work to repair machines, cars and electrical equipment; and

v. Designing small electrical projects (managing how of installing new machines that are installed in technical garages and Electricity.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

i. Those who graduated form IV and completed a three-year technical course from technical colleges recognized by the Government in one of them of the electrical field

ii. Those who graduated form VI and qualified years of technical training two from a college recognized by the Government in one of the Electrical fields.

iii. Holders of Technical test certificate Stage I in one of the Electrical fields from a technical college recognized by the Government,

iv. Holders of an ordinary Diploma in one of the fields of Electricity from a College recognized by the Government.

SALARY

TECHNICIAN II ARCHITECTS – 2 POSTS

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Practical work in the field of architecture to enable him get enough qualifications to be registered with the Registration Board that concerns them Architects,

ii. To monitor the availability of information and professions of architectural design,

iii. Through various project proposals buildings submitted to the Ministry.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Employed with one of the qualifications mentioned below:

i. Those who graduated form IV and completed a three-year technical course from technical colleges recognized by the Government in one of them of the field of architecture

ii. Those who graduated form VI and qualified years of technical training two from a college recognized by the Government in one of the
architectural fields

iii. Holders of Technical test certificate Stage I in one of the fields of architectural design from a technical college recognized by government,

iv. Holders of an ordinary Diploma in one of the fields of architecture buildings from the College recognized by the Government.

SALARY

Based on the Government’s standards ie the level of Salary TGS.C

STANDARD TECHNICIAN GRADE II (PIPING)- 2 POSTS

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Drawing and interpreting piping system drawings;

ii. Making an estimate of pipeline maintenance costs;

iii. Ensure the safety and cleanliness of pipes according to standards quality;

iv. Repair and maintenance of plumbing systems;

v. Conduct inspections and advise on water pipe systems and sewage;

v. Collaborate with other employees in accomplishing the goals Organization;

vii. Doing other work as directed by your leader.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

i. Those who graduated form IV and completed a three-year technical course from technical colleges recognized by the Government in one of them of the profession of a plumber.

ii. Those who graduated form VI and qualified years of technical training two from a college recognized by the Government in one of the plumbing professions

iii. Holders of Technical test certificate Stage I in one of the Plumbing courses from a technical college recognized by government,

iv. Holders of an ordinary Diploma in one of the fields of Plumbing from a College recognized by the Government.

STANDARD TECHNICIAN II (CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR) – 2 POSTS

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Practical work in the field of construction estimation to enable him get enough qualifications to be registered with the Registration Board that concerns them construction estimators,

ii. To monitor the availability of information and professions of construction estimation,

iii. Through the proposals of various estimates (project estimates) of buildings submitted to the Ministry.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

i. Those who graduated form IV and completed a three-year technical course from technical colleges recognized by the Government in one of them of the field of architecture estimation construction

ii. Those who graduated form VI and qualified years of technical training two from a college recognized by the Government in one of the fields of construction estimation

iii. Holders of Technical test certificate Stage I in one of the fields of construction estimation from a technical college recognized by government,

iv. Holders of an ordinary Diploma in one of the fields of valuation
construction from a College recognized by the Government.

SALARY

Based on the Government’s standards ie the level of Salary TGS.C
