The Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) was founded on September 4, 2014, following the promotion of the then Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies (MUCCoBS) to the status of a full-fledged university.
The MoCU’s history begins on January 5, 1963, when the Co-operative College Moshi began operations under the then Ministry of Co-operatives and Community Development, catering to the training of manpower in the co-operative sector.
As the Constituent College of Sokoine University of Agriculture, the Co-operative College Moshi was renamed Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies (MUCCoBS) in 2004.
MoCU is located on Sokoine Road in Moshi Municipality, Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania.
The University is currently divided into faculties, directorates, bureaus, and institutes as follows:

iv. Cooperative Library and Archives Directorate (DCLA)
