Hubert Kairuki Memorial University (HKMU) was founded in 1997 and was one of Tanzania’s first private institutions to be authorized in 2000. It has since garnered local, regional, and international recognition.

Prof Hubert C.M Kairuki and his wife Mrs Kokushubira Kairuki came up with the idea for the university after being touched by the circumstances in Tanzania following independence in 1961, when sickness, poverty, and ignorance were deemed the country’s main foes.

HKMU University began as Mikocheni International University of Health Sciences (MIUHS), with the goal of meeting the training needs of health professionals in Tanzania and throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

Mikocheni International University was established in 1998 with the intention of growing outside health sciences. In February of 1999, the project was completed.

Mikocheni International University was established in 1998 with the intention of growing outside health sciences. After Prof Hubert Kairuki passed away in February 1999, the university’s name was changed to Hubert Kairuki Memorial University.

Other science and humanities degrees and disciplines are being added to the University’s offerings. Master of Social Work, Master of Science in Public Health, and Research and Development in Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms are just a few of the newer educational programs.

Because of the quality and excellence of its programs, HKMU has grown to the point that it is becoming the pride of private universities in the East African region.

Currently, the University has attracted students from more than 15 different countries, as well as foreign finance and technical assistance for collaborative research and development projects.

Step 1: Read Admission Criteria

Before starting registration/application, read minimum admission requirements.

Step 2: Create Account (Signup Form)

Fill in the required information and create your account. Upon creating your account you will be given a CODE NUMBER (invoice number) for your application fee payment.

NOTE: Application fee is required on submission of your application.

All payment should be done through TIGO Pesa, M-Pesa, Airtel Money OR Direct to CRDB Bank and use your given CODE NUMBER to pay TSH 50,000/= as an Application Fee.

Payment verification should not be skipped. Skipping that step, you will not be able to continue to the next steps. After payment, please go back to OSIM on step 3 & 4 to complete your application.

Use your Email Address and password created during step 2, then click sign in button to login and continue with your application.

Step 4: Internal Steps After Log In

After Login continue with internal steps and procedures to complete and submit your application.
